Program Description
The Digital Commons is an online, digital institutional repository. "The purpose of the UNL Repository is to publicize, disseminate, and preserve the scholarly work of current UNL scholars to educate and inform the world. It is intended to provide access to this work as broadly as possible, and for as long as possible."
For more information on the policies of the Digital Commons, consult this page.
What GLBT-related materials can we add to the Digital Commons?
Research papers, research articles, dissertations, theses, student papers, History Month proclaimations, etc. Departments, units, research groups, and other UNL organizations can have their own areas set up on the website. Faculty are especially invited to work with the Digital Commons to get their published, pre-published, and unpublished research added to the Digital Commons. As a contributor, you will receive statistic reports on how often your work is accessed online, and your research will be searchable through Google Scholar.
Items in the Digital Commons are saved as PDFs and will be kept online until the copyright holder asks for it to be removed. It's an open access archive, which will allow a wider audience for your work. As digital formats change and progress, your work will be migrated to match the new standards, insuring that your work will not become inaccessible due to format incompatibilities.
If you wish to contribute to the Digital Commons, please contact Paul Royster, program coordinator.
